Hello everyone :)
I have recently decided that I wanted to expand my blog to more than movies. I am going to be talking about TV shows as well. I know they are different in ways but I feel like they kind of fall under the same category. I love many different Tv shows and I'm excited to share the different shows I like and I might even get you hooked on some of them. I feel like their is a lot to talk about when it comes to shows because they are much longer than movies and we get to watch so much more over time. Shows have the ability to create longer plots and storylines and really get more into them and more creative.

Children of Men

Children of Men is a great movie. It was released back in 2006. It is an adventure/drama/mystery movie. The movie takes place in the future. In the future, people can no longer get pregnant. The world had not seen a baby or pregnant woman in 18 years. I found this to be a fascinating topic and was extremely hooked to the movie. There are many twist surprises and action moments. I think this a great movie and I would recommend it to everyone. 

Groundhog Day

Groundhog day is a kind of old film. It came out back in 1993 ( year i was born =] ). It is a comedy/drama/fantasy movie. I found it to be funny at some moments and serious in others. It is a very simplistic plot that has a lot of depth to it. I really enjoyed the movie. It was very entertaining and is a good family movie. it is a bit old fashion looking but if you don't mind that, its a very good movie.

Cold Around the Heart

Cold Around the Heart is a really old movie. It was released in 1997. It is a crime/thriller/drama. If you don't like old fashioned movies this probably isn't the best one i would recommend for you, but if you do like them you should definitely give it a shot. Its a very entertaining movie with a unique style and it is very entertaining. The storyline progresses at a very good pace and is full of exciting moments. I really enjoyed it and had a good time watching it. I would recommend it.

Gone Baby Gone

Gone baby Gone is a movie I just saw recently. This movie came out back in 2007. It is a crime/drama/mystery movie. It starts off kind of slow but it will soon enough hook you :) It has a unique story line, although it takes along time to progress =/. The story line is good and leaves the audience thinking at the end of the movie... what would I have done?.... I think its good that it gets peoples thinking and it strikes up emotion. It is a good movie and I would recommend it IF you have patience because it does take a while before it gets interesting. It is not a fast pace movie so if your not into that then you probably shouldn't watch it. 

Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino is personally one of my favorite directors. I think he has a very unique style and I enjoy watching all the movies he makes. His movies are different from all the other movies. He started very small but generated a bigger fan base after his first movie. I will be reviewing several of his movies on my blog. Here are some of the movies he's made...you might recognize some of them....

Planet Terror

Planet Terror was released with Death Proof in 2007. I made a review of Death Proof earlier if you are interested in reading it. Planet Terror is an action, horror, sci-fi movie. It is really entertaining. It takes place when an experimental bio weapon is accidentally released. it is a gas that turns people into zombie-like creatures who eat humans. There is a group of survivors who want to stop them. The movie goes back and forth from the stories and backgrounds of the different survivors. It was directed and written by Robert Rodriguez. there are some twists and very exciting moments I really enjoyed this movie and I think you will too. 

Death Proof

The movie Death Proof is an action, crime, thriller. It is a very unique movie. It was directed and written by Quentin Tarantino. This movie came out back in 2007 and if you haven't seen it yet I definitely recommend that you  watch it. The movie is a bout a stunt man who uses his death proof car to murder people. The movie consists of two different groups of women who are both his targets. It is a very simplistic plot but still very entertaining. This movie was released alongside with Planet Terror and can be found as "Grindhouse." They were shown consecutively at theaters. Some of the characters overlap and it was fun to watch two different movies overlap.  

Zombieland

Zombieland is a movie that takes place in a time when people turn into zombies. The movie is a Horror Comedy. The main character is a college student called Columbus. He starts off alone but develops some friendships throughout the movie. It is a very entertaining movie and kept my attention. It has its own unique style and I haven't seen a movie quite like it. I would definitely recommend it. :)

Wild Target is an action movie which is outside of his normal genre but we'll see if he can do as well on an action movie.

Gattaca Review

I recently saw the movie Gattaca for the first time. I know its not a new movie but I found it to be very interesting. The movie starts off in a future setting. In the future people who want to have children can genetically enhance the fetus to prevent diseases , make them stronger, and even had a say in the physical aspects of their children.

The protagonist of the film is a man named Vincent. He is different than other people because he was not genetically enhanced. He is what they reffered to as a "faith birth" or "god child." I found this concept to be very intriguing and wanted to hear more about it so i thought the movie had a good hook to begin with.

The story continues as Vincent's parents decide to have a genetically enhanced child. Vincent, being a faith birth, was prone to die at an early age, had heart problems, and several other disadvantages. His new brother Anton was considered to be the perfect son. Vincent always felt inferior to his brother. The movie has the audience feeling sympathetic for Vincent and liking him.

The first major scene in the movie is when Vincent and his brother Anton go swimming and for the first time Vincent can outswim his brother. this is the moment when he realizes that he is not as weak as everyone says he is and that his supposedly perfect brother is not as strong as everyone says he is. this event gave him the confidence to try to pursue his dream regardless of his genetic disadvantages, which is to go to space.

Vincent studies constantly and works out to lot to try to outmeasure his DNA. He finally takes a drastic step and decides to use someone elses DNA. He becomes Jerome and gets a job at Gattaca. Jerome helps him throughout the movie.
He also begins a relationship with a woman named Irene.
Vincent has to go through many obstacles and many scares of almost being caught.
The movie has the reader in suspense wondering if he will get caught.
It is a very interesting  movie with a good concept.
i would reccomend it.

Recently i found a blog that is also about movies. it is http://best-action-movies.blogspot.com/ i really liked it and it caught my attention. it talks about some new movies and has many details about it. it reviews them very well. i think it is a good blog and hope to be as successful as it is. i like the format and the simplicity.

fox report on roosevelt high school "waiting for superman"

recently fox news did a report on LA schools. they called roosevelt a dropout factory. i was offended, and i dont think they should jump to conclusions like that. they dont know any better, they cant just report on the bad aspects. they made the school seem really bad when in reality it is not. i would agree that our school system isnt the best but they shouldnt have singled roosevelt out. they shouldnt have made it seem as if the students at roosevelt high are stupid and uncapable of learning or achieving anything because they can achieve things....

My name is yessi. i will be talking to you about movies and i will share my opinions and thoughts about them. i look forward to hearing  your opinions and seeing your point of view on some movies. I'll let you know what movies you should or shouldn't watch and ill give some good recommendations. i have always been interested in movies because you can learn a lot from them and they are very entertaining. i became interested in movies when i was little. my brothers would show me movies and i loved them. i watch a lot of movies at home, almost one every day. i also go to the theaters to watch the latest movies or ill watch them online :) i became aware of movies when i was a small child. i started off watching cartoon movies.
